How it works

From your street to your door

CitySetu is a marketplace, not a shop. The kirana you already know keeps its prices, its stock and its delivery boy; we give it a phone-shaped shopfront and get out of the way.

Ordering

  1. Set your delivery address

We show only the shops that actually deliver to that pin, sorted by distance, with live open and closed status.

  2. Pick a shop and fill the basket

Real inventory with the shop's own prices, capped at MRP. Loose items — tomatoes, dal, dairy from the counter — are priced by weight, so you order 750 g and the bill says 750 g.

  3. Choose when it arrives

Some shops deliver immediately with a promise of 30 to 120 minutes; others offer time slots with a real capacity, so a slot marked full is full. Some also offer pickup.

  4. Choose how you pay

Cash on delivery, or UPI. UPI only opens once the shop has packed your order and the amount is final, and it goes to the shop's own verified QR.

When something changes

This is the part most apps get wrong, so it is worth stating plainly.

You are told, not asked

If an item is unavailable or a loose item weighs a little more or less, the shop applies the change and you get one clear message with the new total. Nobody interrupts you at work to approve a missing packet of dhaniya.

The bill never goes up

The packed total can only be lower than or equal to the total you placed. If an item weighs more than you ordered, you are charged for what you ordered.

Replacements only if you allowed them

At checkout you say whether a missing item may be replaced. A replacement is never more expensive than the item it replaces.

A big change means a free exit

If the order changes substantially, a Cancel free option stays open until the order leaves the shop. It is an option, not a prompt.

Delivery and handover

The shop's own people

No third-party rider pool. The person at your door works for the shop and knows the lane.

OTP at the door

The handover is confirmed with a one-time code from your app, so an order cannot be marked delivered without you.

Running late is said out loud

If the shop is behind, it sends one honest "running late" message. Silence is not an option we built.

What we do not do

  • We never hold your money. There is no CitySetu wallet for Local Shops. You pay the shop.
  • No surge pricing, ever. The shop's price is the price, capped at MRP.
  • No third-party trackers on this site or in the app, and no advertising SDKs.
  • No non-vegetarian items. See the pledge.

Refunds and cancellations are in the refund policy; the rest is in the terms.
